Due to the current circumstances in Egypt and the election of the People’s Council, the Egyptian Patent Office (EPO) will be closed from 23 – 26 January 2012. Since 26 January is Thursday, and Friday and Saturday is the official weekend in Egypt, then the next working day for the EPO will be on Sunday, 29 January 2012.

We will attempt to submit all pending files on the first day the EPO resumes its activities.

This is to inform you that the Intellectual Property Office in Egypt is now partially operational; all deadlines are still kept on hold. However, our office is now fully operational and can reply to clients’ requests and queries.

It has been officially announced that since all governmental offices are not operational due to the current event in Egypt, all deadlines that occur during this period, or will fall due in the near future, will be automatically postponed until the situation becomes settled.

Accordingly, clients and associates do not have to worry about due dates for submitting responses, documents, appeals, or priority dates if the deadline occurs starting from 25 January 2011, until further notice.
