YEMEN: INCREASE IN OFFICIAL PUBLICATION FEES

SANA’A – The Ministry of Industry & Trade in Yemen issued new increased fees for trademark publication, which includes publication for the opposition period, publication of renewed registrations, and after recording an assignment, license, merger, and the like.

The increased rates are more than 200% higher than the previous fee schedule and apply to trademark applications, renewals, and recordals.

The new fees went into effect in March 2022.

EGYPT: INCREASE IN PATENT OFFICIAL FEES

CAIRO – The Egyptian Patent Office, by decree number 22 of 2022, has announced an increase in the official fees for all patent-related transactions.

Said increase became effective on 1 March 2022 with the launch of the new online patent filing system. You can read more about the new patent portal here.

BAHRAIN: NEW TRADEMARK SEARCH PORTAL LAUNCHES

MANAMA – The Department of Foreign Trade and Industrial Property of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism announced the launch of a search service for trademarks and industrial designs registered in the Kingdom of Bahrain through the WIPO public system.

The search portal launched on 28 October 2021.
