In addition, the TMO will issue separate certificates for such actions. The original certificate, however, must be provided upon filing.

Recordal applications include changes to name, changes of address, assignments, and mergers.

As per the previous practice, renewals and recordals were endorsed onto the back of the original registration certificate without the issuance of a recordal or renewal certificate.

Lebanon – New Requirements for Recordals https://njq-ip.com/newsletters/2016/09/lebanon-new-requirements-for-recordals/ https://njq-ip.com/newsletters/2016/09/lebanon-new-requirements-for-recordals/#respond Wed, 28 Sep 2016 06:04:38 +0000 https://njq-ip.com/?post_type=newsletter&p=10136 BEIRUT – According to a new regulation issued by the Trademark Office in Lebanon, powers of attorney (PoA) in relation to new applications, renewals, and reocrdals must be legalised by the Lebanese Consulate, and late filings of the documents is no longer accepted.

Said decision took effect on 1 September 2016. Accordingly, we ask our clients to send us legalised PoAs as well as other original documents related to any recordal transactions along with their instructions.

Priority documents, however, do not require legalisation and can be submitted within 2 months of the filing date (a photocopy by email is required for filing).
