Filing Requirements
- Power of attorney simply signed.
- Certified copy of the certificate of incorporation or an extract from the commercial register with Arabic or English translation, legalised by the Sudanese Consulate. If the applicant is a person, then a photocopy of the passport is required.
- Certified copy of the priority document if claimed.
Notes
- Late filing of documents: allowed within 3 months from filing date without penalty.
- Extension of time for late filing of documents: can be applied for an additional period of 3 months without penalty.
Once the trademark matures to registration, the Trademark Office requests that applicants provide a letter attesting that the company did not change its address nor sold the mark, said letter should be printed on the applicant's letterhead.
Registration with Customs Duty
- Power of attorney, legalised.
- Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register, legalised.
- Photocopy of the registration/renewal certificate of the subject mark in Sudan.
- Photocopy of the registration certificate of the subject mark in the home country.
- The barcode of the original goods.
- Copy of the certificate of origin.
- Samples of the genuine goods.
- Samples of the fake goods.
- Thirty (30) copies of the subject mark.
Renewal Requirements
- Power of attorney simply signed.
- Photocopy of the registration certificate of the subject mark.
Search Requirements
- No documents are required.
Assignment Requirements
- Powers of attorney from the assignor and the assignee, stamped by each and legalised by the Sudanese Consulate.
- Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register (of the assignee) legalised.
- Deed of assignment document, legalised.
Notes
- Late filing of documents: not allowed.
- The registration certificate is no longer required. The Trademark Office will issue a certificate of assignment.
- The assignment must be recorded within six (6) months from the date of signing the deed.
- The certificate of incorporation can be filed at a later stage. However, the Registrar will issue the assignment certificate only after providing the certificate of incorporation.
- If the certificate of incorporation has already been submitted in the subject trademark's file, then a reference to the trademark and its number will suffice.
- The assignment must be recorded within six (6) months from the date of signing the deed.
- The certificate of incorporation can be filed at a later stage. However, the Registrar will issue the assignment certificate only after providing the certificate of incorporation.
- If the certificate of incorporation has already been submitted in the subject trademark's file, then a reference to the trademark and its number will suffice.

- Certificate of change of name (no legalisation required).

License Requirements
- Powers of attorney from the licensor and the licensee, stamped by each and legalised by the Sudanese Consulate.
- License agreement document, legalised.
- Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register (of the licensee) legalised.
