.KRD is the Internet Generic top-level domain (gTLD) for Kurdistan Region of Iraq. On 5 December 2013 the Department of Information Technology of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) received a registry agreement signed by ICANN for .krd after passing all the required processes needed to become the registry operator for the domain.

KRG Department of IT (DIT) was established in March 2007 under the auspices of H.E the Prime Ministers Nichirvan Barzani. Department is located at the council of ministers dedicated and focused on the development of IT in Kurdistan Region.
