• Period of protection of a design: 5 years.
• Annuities: the protection period of an industrial design in Botswana is 5 years, and can be renewed for two consecutive periods of 5 years each. A grace period of 6 months is granted for the late renewal after the payment of penalty fees.
• Allowed time to submit the assignment deed from the date of signing the agreement: no time restrictions.

An application for the registration of a design can include two or more designs provided that the designs relate to the same class of International Classification or to the same set or composition of articles.
