Industrial Design Filing Requirements
  • Drawings in the prescribed manner which indicate a set of orthographic drawings that include a front view, rear view, left-side view, right-side view, top-view, and bottom-view. All of the drawings must have the same scale. However, it is also possible to show a design by using isometric drawings or oblique drawings.

  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

According to Article 9 of the Design Act, when two or more applications are filed for an industrial design on different dates, only the applicant who filed the application first will be entitled to register that design. This is called the "First to File" principle. This means that if any other applicants file applications for the same industrial design after the first applicant has applied, those later applications will be refused.

Annuity Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Industrial Design Search
  • No documents are required.

Industrial Design Assignment
  • Power of attorney signed by the assignee.
  • Deed of assignment document signed by the assignor and assignee.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Industrial Design Merger
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Merger agreement document signed by both parties.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Industrial Design Recordal of Change
  • Power of attorney reflecting the new name or address simply signed.
  • Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register reflecting the change.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Industrial Design License
  • Power of attorney signed by the licensee.
  • License agreement document signed by both parties.
