Copyright to works that has or has not been communicated in Latvia, but which exist in Latvia or abroad in any material form, shall belong to the authors or their heirs, as well as to other successors in title.
The person whose name or generally recognized pseudonym appears on a work communicated to the public or a published or a reproduced work shall be considered to be the author of the work, if it is not proven otherwise.
If though a work is communicated to the public or published without reference to the author, the editor shall act in the name and interests of the author, but if the editor is also not identified, then the publisher or the authorized representative of the author. This condition shall be in effect until the author of a work reveals his or her identity and claims authorship.
