NIC MONACO (Network Internet Center) is the entity within the Department of Electronic Communications which registers first-level Internet domains within the “.mc” country code.
It runs and maintains the technical infrastructure for managing domain names within the “.mc” zone. The organisation is also responsible for developing the regulatory framework surrounding the naming system and drawing up registration agreements defining the contractual relationship between NIC MONACO and the domain name registrars.
When making an application to register a domain name, it is the responsibility of the applicant to check that the name requested does not violate prior rights under the intellectual property code or trademark law.
