Patent Filing Requirements
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Certified copy of the priority document if claimed, with Spanish translation.
  • Specification, claims, formal drawings, and abstract, with Spanish translation.
  • Deed of assignment document if the applicant is not the inventor.

Annuity Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Patent Search
  • No documents are required.

Patent Assignment
  • Power of attorney legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.
  • Deed of assignment document signed by the assignor and assignee, with Spanish translation, legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Patent Merger
  • Power of attorney legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.
  • Merger agreement document signed by both parties, with Spanish translation, legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.

Patent Recordal of Change
  • Power of attorney reflecting the new name or address, legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.
  • Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register reflecting the change, with Spanish translation, legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.

Patent License
  • Power of attorney legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.
  • License agreement document signed by both parties, with Spanish translation, legalised by the Panamanian Consulate or apostilled.
