Trademarks - Filing Requirements


Filing Requirements
  • Power of attorney, notarised.
  • Description of the trademark.
  • Certified copy of the priority document if claimed, notarised with English translation.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: allowed within 3 months from filing date without penalty, however the Registry will give the trademark a filing date after submitting the original power of attorney.

The priority document can be filed within 6 months from the filing date.

Renewal Requirements
  • Power of attorney, notarised.
  • Photocopy of the registration certificate of the subject mark.

  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Search Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Assignment Requirements
  • Power of attorney signed by the assignee, notarised.
  • Deed of assignment document signed by the assignor and assignee, notarised.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Merger Requirements
  • Power of attorney, notarised.
  • Merger agreement document signed by both parties, notarised.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Recordal of Change
  • Power of attorney reflecting the new name or address, notarised.
  • Certified copy of the certificate of incorporation or an extract from the commercial register reflecting the change, notarised.

License Requirements
  • Power of attorney signed by the licensee, notarised.
  • License agreement document signed by both parties, notarised.
