Patent Filing Requirements
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Request for the grant of the patent.
  • Description, claims, and any drawings referred to in the description and abstract.

Annuity Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Patent Assignment
  • Power of attorney simply signed by both parties.
  • Deed of assignment document signed by both parties.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Patent Merger
  • Power of attorney simply signed by both parties.
  • Merger certificate, or merger agreement document signed by both parties.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Patent Recordal of Change
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Document attesting the change.
  • Notarised declaration in support of application for the change.

Patent License
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • License agreement document.

  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Current legislation does not specifically address late filing of documents. However, if at the time of filing, the Registrar finds that the application and the supporting documentation did not fulfill the requirements, he will make a request for the applicant to furnish such documents, failing to do so, the Registrar may refuse to examine the application.
