- You can claim priority according to Paris Convention within: 6 months from the first filing date.
- Period of protection of a design: 5 years.
- Annuities: a design registration is protected for five years, and renewable for a further two terms of five years each, provided that proof of use or working in Ethiopia is furnished. Renewal fees are due annually in addition to the five year extension fees. Application for renewal must be filed at least ninety days prior to the expiry of the protection term. A grace period is provided in certain circumstances.
- Allowed time to submit the assignment deed from the date of signing the agreement: no time restrictions.
