Copyrights

The term “copyright” refers to the intellectual ownership of a literary and artistic work. For example a piece of music, a book, a painting, hand made artefacts, or a film

You obtain copyright to an intellectual work the moment you create it. Where an invention, design or brand name has the characteristics of something new and original, or is a result of new creative input, these are automatically protected in accordance with the Norwegian Copyright Act. If you wish to have a legally defined sole right to the use of your invention, design or trademark, you should apply to the Norwegian Industrial Property Office for registration of the relevant patent, design or trademark.
