Industrial Design Filing Requirements
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Abstract consisting of a concise summary of the disclosure, preferably not more than one hundred and fifty (150) words in the English language.
  • Deed of assignment document legalised by the Philippines Consulate if the applicant is not the inventor.
  • Copy of the specifications, claims, and drawings in the English language.
  • Certified copy of the priority document if claimed, with English translation.
  • Applicant's and designer/maker's details, including place of incorporation/citizenship.
  • Title of the design.
  • A statement of novelty indicating the novel aspects of the design if partial protection only is desired.
  • Details of the priority application.

  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

The power of attorney and priority document can be provided within three months from the date of filing, with an additional service charge.

Annuity Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Industrial Design Search
  • No documents are required.

Industrial Design Assignment
  • Power of attorney simply signed by the assignee.
  • Deed of assignment document notarised, with English translation.

  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Industrial Design Merger
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Merger agreement document notarised, with English translation.

Notes

Industrial Design Recordal of Change
  • Power of attorney showing the new name and/or address, simply signed.
  • Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register reflecting the change notarised, with English translation.

Industrial Design License
  • Power of attorney simply signed by the licensee.
  • License agreement document signed by both parties notarised, with English translation.
