Registration with Customs Duty

Notes
In Thailand, a registered trademark is protected through the customs. However, the customs officer will not automatically conduct a trademark infringement search without a notification letter from the owner of registered trademark. Therefore, in order to obtain this service, the owner of a registered trademark has to file a notification letter to the customs along with a photocopy of the registration certificate of the mark.

Renewal Requirements
  • Power of attorney notarised.
  • Photocopy of the registration certificate.

Search Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Assignment Requirements
  • Power of attorney signed by the assignor and the assignee, notarised.
  • Deed of assignment document, notarised.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Merger Requirements
  • Power of attorney notarised.
  • Merger agreement document notarised with English translation.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Recordal of Change
  • Power of attorney under the new name or address, notarised.
  • Certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register reflecting the change of name or address, notarised.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

License Requirements
  • Power of attorney signed by the licensee, notarised.
  • License agreement document signed by both parties, notarised.
