Patent Filing Requirements
- Power of attorney legalised by Yemeni Consulate.
- Deed of assignment document legalised by the Yemeni Consulate if the applicant is not the inventor.
- Copies of specifications, claims, and drawings in English and Arabic languages.
- Certified copy of the corresponding patent application or registration legalised by the Yemeni Consulate.
- Certified copy of the certificate of incorporation or an extract from the commercial register with its Arabic or English translation.
- Certified copy of the priority document if claimed.
Notes
- Late filing of documents: 90 days from filing date without penalty.
- Extension of time for late filing of documents: not allowed.
Annuity Requirements
- No documents are required.
Patent Assignment
- Power of attorney signed by the assignee, legalised by the Yemeni Consulate.
- Deed of assignment document legalised by the Yemeni Consulate.

Patent Merger
Notes
The Patent Law in Yemen has no provisions regarding patent merger. It is possible to file a patent assignment application instead.
Patent Recordal of Change
- Power of attorney under the new name or address, legalised by the Yemeni Consulate.
- Copy of the certificate of incorporation or extract from the commercial register reflecting the change of name or address.

Patent License
- Power of attorney signed by the licensee, legalised by the Yemeni Consulate.
- License agreement document with Arabic or English translation, legalised by the Yemeni Consulate.
