According to new amendments on patent rules in Singapore, patent applications in the country are no longer examined at the Australian Patent Office starting from 6 December 2010. The only certified examiners are now the Austrian Patent Office, the Danish Patent and Trademark Office and the Hungarian Patent Office.
Starting from 1st December 2010; before any registration of transaction, instrument, assignments, or mergers; the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) issues notifications to the proprietor(s), applicant(s) or their appointed agent requesting them to inform the IPOS if they have not authorized such transactions.
