Patents - Filing Requirements


Patent Filing Requirements
  • Power of attorney simply signed and stamped by a round corporate seal. If not stamped, then it should be legalised or apostilled.
  • Description, claims, abstract, and figures.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: allowed within 2 months from filing date with penalty.
  • Extension of time for late filing of documents: can be applied for additional period of 2 months three times.

Annuity Requirements
  • No documents are required.

Patent Assignment
  • Power of attorney signed by the assignee.
  • Deed of assignment document signed by both parties.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Patent Merger
  • Power of attorney simply signed.
  • Merger agreement document signed by both parties.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Patent Recordal of Change
  • Official document certifying the change.
  • A letter from the applicant informing the Patent Office about the change.

Notes
  • Late filing of documents: not allowed.

Patent License
  • Power of attorney notarised or apostilled.
  • Two original license agreement documents signed by both parties.
