Patent Filing Requirements
- Power of attorney simply signed.
- Four copies of the specification, claims, and abstract in English language.
- Four sets of the formal drawings, if any.
- Three copies of the application form which must be signed by the inventor, if he is not the inventor is not the applicant, the application must be attested by two witnesses.
- Certified copy of the priority document if claimed.
Notes
All documents are to be filed electronically. Scanned copies of documents (such as Form 1, Power of Attorney, Deed of Assignment, certificate regarding change in the name of applicant, license agreement, priority document, etc.) must be submitted electronically and thereafter originals should be filed at the Patent Office within 15 days from the date of such electronic filing.
However, the power of attorney can be submitted within 3 months from filing date without penalty.
If filing number, filing date, or current status of the foreign patent application is not available at the time of filing, it can be provided later.
