Patents - General Information

  • You can claim priority according to Paris Convention within: 12 months from the first filing date.
  • Member of: PCT, Paris Convention.
  • Period of protection of a patent: 20 years.
  • Annuities: an annual fee shall be paid for maintaining the patent in force. Annuity fee shall be paid for each year that follows the year in which the notification regarding the grant of the patent has been published. The anniversary of the filing date shall be considered the beginning of each year. The annual fee for maintaining the patent in force shall be considered paid if it has been paid until the end of the month of the current payment year in which the filing date happens to be. If the annual fee has not been paid within the specified time limit but the owner of the patent pays the annual fee together with an additional fee in the period of time of the further six months, the patent shall be considered as maintained in force.
  • Allowed time to submit the assignment deed from the date of signing the agreement: no time restrictions.
