The governmental decision to reduce the official fees as agreed earlier between the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Trademarks Agents is still pending awaiting publication in the official gazette. It is not yet known when the publication of this decision will take place and therefore all trademark applications are currently filed according to the recent high official fees.
Our reservation to delay filing new applications is based on the fact that we do not want to bear our clients extra official fees at the final registration stage.
According to the current official fees filing an application costs JD 502, equivalent to US$710; JD 50 (US$70) for publication and JD100 (US$145) for final registration fees. The expected reduction will be JD 100 (US$145) for filing and JD 300(US$ 425) for registration fees while publication fees remain unchanged at JD 50 (US$70). In case we file an application according to the current official fees, that is, US$710, and the government decided to reduce the official fees as agreed the official final registration fees will be JD300 (US$ 425) instead of JD100 (US$145).
