RIYADH – The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) has updated its procedures for handling trademark application refusals.
Previously, when an Examiner issued a refusal decision against a trademark application, the applicant could either amend the mark within ten (10) days or appeal the decision within sixty (60) days. The new practice only allows applicants to choose the second option, which is appealing the refusal decision within the 60-day window.
