As of the beginning of June 2008, the Syrian Prime Minster issued a decision in which:
- IP applicants are not requested to submit the boycott declaration regardless of the nationality of the applicant.
- The applications will not be forwarded to the Boycott Office for approval or clearance.
- The TMO will check the applicant name with a list already given to them; consequently, the application will be approved or rejected.
However, it is still not clear whether this will apply for pending applications for the submission of the said declaration or previously rejected applications by the Boycott Office. We will update our clients once a decision is made.
