DAMASCUS – Syria has cancelled its accession to the Madrid Agreement for the International Registration of Marks, endorsed in conformity with the Decree No. 92 dated 25 March 2004. The cancellation was based on a Presidential decree no. 179 issued by the Syrian President Bashar Al-Asdad.
However, the new decree stated that Syria will continue to work with the remaining regulations of the 2004 decree that stipulated the accession of Syria to the Madrid Protocol established in 1989.
