The Moroccan Parliament recently approved a new law uniting the Casablanca Trademark Law dated 23/6/1916 and the Tangier Trademark Law dated 4/10/1938 into one law that grants protection in both jurisdictions. This law has not yet been implemented, however, it is expected to come into force within the coming few months.
Furthermore, the renewal protection period for national trademarks is also expected to be amended from twenty years to ten years to be in conformity with the renewal period of international registrations.
Further developments will be circulated to you in due course.
