Pursuant to Ministerial Decision No. 40 issued by the Bahraini Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Hassan Bin Abdulla Fakhro, official fees for trademark-related services habe substantially increased in Bahrain.
The decision, issued on December 26, 2005, was published in the Official Gazette No. 2720 on January 4, 2006, and became effective on the same date.
This increase will apply to new, as well as to pending, applications previously filed with the Bahraini Trademark Office.
Moreover, as announced by the Bahraini Trademark Office and the Ministry, additional services related to trademarks have also been introduced in the Kingdom of Bahrain, such as filing of a certification mark, collective mark, etc.
In addition, the revised official fees have included new items that did not exist earlier, e.g. response to rejection of a trademark application, obtaining a non-certified copy of any data, publication of the recordal of assignment/ merger/ license agreement, as well as request for verifying the official trademark records.
Our advised schedule of charges reflects the increase in official fees only.
It is worth mentioning that filing has not been revised and still as below:
- Power of attorney simply signed.
- Certified copy of home or foreign registration/ application, certificate application can be filed upon receiving copy by fax.
