New Border Measures:
In an attempt to reduce the volume of counterfeit products entering the country, the Bahraini trademark database will shortly be connected with the Customer Duty Department.
All products entering through the border will be monitored against these records.
Previously, the Bahraini Trademark Office (BTO) was insisting that all applicants submit an Extract of Commercial Register, legalized up to the Consulate, along with their trademark application.
Recently, the BTO started accepting a copy of Home or Foreign Registration Certificate (without legalization) as an alternative to the previously requested Extract.
The new regulation has come in favor of applicants as it reduced the time and effort spent in legalization procedures.
