On 17 November 2015, the Central Government in India announced new rules regarding trademark transaction fees. The ruling states that trademark registration fees as well as the fees for other operations related to trademarks will be increased and will take effect shortly.
It is expected that the increase will be twice the present fees. An official notice will be issued by the government.
Accordingly, it is advised to complete any pending matters and proceed with the filing of any new applications as soon as possible in order to avoid the payment of the new increased fees.
