DOHA – The Amiri Diwan of the State of Qatar has declared an official mourning period and the temporary suspension of work across all government ministries, public institutions, and authorities following the passing of the Father Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani.
In compliance with this official directive, key regulatory authorities—including the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Qatar Intellectual Property Office—have suspended daily operations. Regular business activities at these offices are scheduled to officially resume on 19 July 2026.
In light of the sudden closure, administrative and statutory deadlines governing intellectual property matters, trademark applications, and corporate filings that fall during this official mourning period will be automatically extended. All such deadlines will now lapse on the first official working day following the closure, i.e. 19 July 2026.
NJQ & Associates is actively monitoring the situation and tracking all affected portfolios. We will handle all submissions and priority filings on the immediate reopening date to ensure no rights are compromised.
